This may sound stupid but it appears as though my air vents are constantly on, switching it off on the dash seems to make less air ventilate. Adjusting the temperature tends to keep the temp similar when off, the manual doesn't say much and I've tried pretty much everything with the available knobs/switches.

Ideas, it's something small but is driving me a bit insane.

I would also like to know the solution to this.

yeah so you don't die from your own exhaled carbon-dioxide?

There is no solution unless you block them with your hands...they're constantly venting in fresh air, far outer vents in particular.

On a sort of related topic, does anybody know where the rear exit vents are?

Guess I'll have to block them with my hands and feet...

Haha it's not that bad is it? The best way to go about it is to adjust the temp to a comfortable temp, turn the entire AC/fac unit off, then press recirculate. Pretty sure that's the closest you'll get.

It seems less air flows through the vents whilst driving.. I always have it on, most the times i get a face full of exhaust fumes sitting at lights when its not on...

Be careful of that, apparently more than 15 minutes of recirculated air is bad for you and really modern cars won't let you recirculate for more than that (auto switches off)

I know what the OP is saying. If you set temp high to warm up, then turn the system off the vents will continue to blow air at the most recent temp set. Sometimes i just want fresh air at the outside temp, which is impossible.

Have to crack a window or the sunroof for the good fresh stuff.

I think you've been watching too much ACA/today tonight! A car is not airtight, it's fine to leave that on all the time, although I prefer it set to outside air.

If you take off the rear bumper you can see the vents behind the rear wheel.

+1 Window down and fresh air always on unless I'm sitting behind some old diesel landcruiser

If you have set the temp high enough to warm up, and then switch off and just want fresh air - remember the aircon ducts/vents would still be warm so whatever cool air coming in would feel warm until the ducts/vents have all cooled down.

Jake, turn the temp down to min (18' in m car), AC off and vents open.
select where you want the air to come from (I usually use windscreen/ feet so it's not blowing directly at you)
then hit the off button
