I recently had an accident with my h6 liberty and my from wheel was pushed in and damage to quarter panel and door
I had an argument with insurance company as the repairer was using reconditioned parts they assured me it would be fine so I went with it.
I got it back last week and after a couple of days of driving I noticed a loud knock coming from control arm area. It has happen three times and those three times I was turning and going ariund 20 kms.
I need advice as to how to take this further without them saying that nothing is wrong and that they cant find it.
Is there a good mechanic in Melbourne that would be able to find the issue and take on the repairs with the insurer.

You should be able to get an assessor out from your insurance company. Should be a lifetime warranty on repairs?
What insurance?

Its racv insurance but its the assessor that wouldnt let me take it back from the mechanic in the first place when I had found they were reconditioning my suspension.
Now that it failed I want the whole part replaced rather then the components is that possible?

Not sure, but the racv assessor that came out to inspect my car after repairs was really harsh on the repairer and made him replace a few things like clips, and even fix some over-spray. Maybe try calling RACV again and getting a different assessor out?

older post here I am replying to I know.
I work at a Panel Beaters (run the office), in this case I would suggest the following:
- RIng RACV Claims assist, give them your claim number and say that you have some quality concerns with the repair
- Ring the panel shop that did the repair, If they are like us, they would have subletted the job out to the mechanic.
When on the phone to claims assist, advise them that you dont feel safe driving the vehicle and would like it inspected ASAP.
They will probably direct you back to the repairer to have it looked at - after all, the person on the other end of the phone cant fix it for you.
When you take the car back to the repairer, be prepared for a it to be inspected that day, and a booking to be made with you again to get the car looked at mechanically.
They might be able to take the car right away, which is always good.
It could be something simple and a 5minute fix, it could be a 5day fix - they wont know until they have looked under the car to investigate of course.
If RACV is like RACQ, I pressume they have lifetime warranty on repairs?
Unfort, have to go through the motions of it all, if its investigated and found nothing wrong - again go through the claims assist.
There may come a point though that you might have to take the vehicle to another mechanic for an independant inspection of the repair - be sure to get a written report and supply a copy of to RACV.
Hope it helps in some way (if it isnt already sorted out)
