replacing turbo back exhaust system

ive ordered myself a fujitsubo exhaust and dump pipe from phat gt which should hopefully be arriving next week

i was going to have a go at installing it myself next weekend and just wanted to know if anyone here has done it before?
i dont imagine it being too difficult, i just want to make sure i have everything i need before i get started.
any tips/trick or infor on what tools are needed would be great.

It's not to difficult. I know with my 04 GT the hardest thing I found was actually getting to the bolts to remove the heat shield from the turbo, think there is 6 of them from memory. Apart from that its pretty straight forward just remember to take out the 02 sensors carefully before trying to remove cause those things ain't cheap. A set of jack stands, sockets and spanners should be all you need and a can of WD40 is always handy.

My advice is to soak all nuts / bolts at least overnight with wd40 before attempting it

The 02 sensors and all the forward-most bolts (afore mentioned heat shield and dump pipe bolts, 02 sensors and turbo outlet flange bolts) will be the hardest to get off as these almost weld themselves to the surface due to all the heat they cop

Be generous with the wd40 too

so I finally got around to putting on my exhaust system yesterday.

(it took a bit longer to arrive than I expected as it was on back order.)
anyway, I followed the tips mentioned here and the install went ahead without a problem. took me about 6 hours all up to do by myself.
thought id better share the details and put some pics up.

I had to modify the heat shield over the down pipe to get it to fit but luckily michael from garage 88 linked me to his tut which can be found here:

really happy with it so far; makes noise when you an it to but doesn't seem to drone on highway driving which is exactly what I was after.
the car feels like its breathing easier and power gains are... noticeable

when I first put them on they looked huge and I didn't really like em but they've grown on me.

ill get a sound clip up as soon as I get a chance.

Always a little more satisfying I think.

Ive got the same exhaust on my wagon and hardly notice the large tips anymore.
Just makes the car look mean and gives a very nice deep rumble

agreed, it gives it more of a tough rather than a sporty look u get from the quad tips; and the note: wow :shock:
