Trip computer/clock and stereo

Postby Acme_Explosives » Sat Jan 19, 2013 9:54 am

Hi all,

The centre console screen in my car which usually displays the fuel consumption and time is not working (hasn't since the day I got it) is this a common issue and if so is it easy to fix/replace?

Also, is it possible to replace the bog standard stereo/head unit with one that has an auxiliary or USB connection? The one I currently have has no branding (Subaru standard?) but has the code GX-201KH.

Any tips or guidance anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated and if there are any previous threads that have discussed this that I am too incompetent to find feel free to link me to those instead to save your typing fingers!

Mate, it's all been answered many times before. The search function is your friend.

The answer is yes the clock failing is a very common problem, there is a DIY how to fix it. And yes you can swapout your headunit for an aftermarket one, with the use of a ~$440 dash fascia.
