92 liberty wagon cyl head gasket problem

Postby Hopeless » Sun Jan 13, 2013 7:31 am

Hi, I have a 1992 liberty with a 2.2 boxer engine. One of the cylinder head gaskets is gone and causing the car to over heat. There is no oil in with the water at all. The leaking gasses is causing the over heating.Does anyone have advice as to the best way to tackle this issue. Maybe there is a product that you have tried or know of that has been successful. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx. Michael

Lots of people try chemiweld but I'm personally not a fan of those "stop leak" products. And considering its the headgasket you have a 1% chance of it working for maybe a week. These additives are more designed to stop a leaky radiator not headgasket.

To remove the engine and replace the head gasket most places would be quoting in excess of $1500.

Where are you located? I can help in Adelaide for a much better price :)
