Fuel Pumps, who's using what

Postby Jaz » Wed Sep 19, 2012 10:20 pm

Hi All,

I'm looking into some little niggles at the moment that have me investigation fuel filters and fuel pumps. Car is an MY07 GTb.

I'm thinking when I go there I may as do a replacement pump as the original has seen almost 200k now.

My initial research:

Sard - Direct fit, but almost twice the price of everything else on the mark
Deatschworks - again (supposedly) available as a direct fit, reasonable price, though I feel they're fairly new on the scene, but popular.
Aeromotive - Another one that is (supposedly) available as a direct fit, more coin than the Deatschworks, so would need to be better.
Walbro. I've seen heaps of these in modified cars, and had one in my last Liberty, though the standard GSS341 requires trimming of the filter, I've heard they now make a smaller one for easy fitment.

Please discuss:
-What you have, what were the specs (L/h and at what pressure range) how did it fit, and what it cost you.

Did the DW 65 require modification to fit?

[edit] just looked it up - clip in for 08+ STI and Gen IV Libs. Seem to be going for $159.00 online at present.

I've got the Aeromotive in my 08. Required a bit of careful dremel/baby-grinder work on the plastic fuel pump caddy to get it in.
