Advice on some panel damage 2006 3.0r-b

Hello everyone, I bought my 2006 my06 3.0r-b liberty about 3 weeks ago.

I got into a bit of a fender bender, mechanically it's completely fine, it was a tiny accident. I'm not too worried about the car at all, it's been looked at and given the all clear. The only thing that bugs me is that the panel just behind the wheel well on the front left side of the car rubs against the passenger door as it opens. I'm not too sure that i've explained that well at all, so i've taken a few pictures.

I'm located in the western suburbs of Melbourne. Any advice would be appreciated! If anyone has any experience with this kind of thing, doesn't live too far and would be willing please pm me so we can talk more.

Thank you

Welcome :)

Where was the car hit from? I'd take it to a local crash repair shop, they'll be able to fix it. Might just be a case of repositioning the guard and door slightly, or possibly bend which ever panel is damaged, back into place.

I personally would get the guard repainted as it looks like that's what was hit, where it's gone right through the paint you'll eventually get rust.

Hey, thanks for the reply, always appreciated.

It was hit on an angle straight into that panel at really really low speed.

I was hoping that maybe someone else had had this problem and that there would be a DIY fix, since I don't have sufficient cash to have it fixed at the moment. I'll keep digging around the net to see though. Coming into spring repainting isn't a priority since it rarely rains and i'm not too fussed with how it looks at the moment, just so long as i can get the door to stop scraping the guard so that it's safe from further damage.

Good advice right there...

Just abit of a rejig of the panel and all will be fine....

It seems a repaint is in order unless your happy with a touch up. Panel shop will realign if your a bit unsure and want it painted properly.

Thank you all for the responses and advice! I'll try what KiDo_Tuning suggested tomorrow. Or rather I would if I knew what i was looking for. I only started getting into cars after I got my P's at the start of this year. This is my first car and I'm yet to tamper with it. What am I looking for?

Bolt at the bottom of the bent panel ;) You may need to remove the side skirt to access the bolt though
