rear wiper dramas

Postby ditts » Tue Aug 14, 2012 8:24 pm

The rear wiper on my wagon is not returning to the correct position when turned off or on the intermittent setting. It stops at random spots. The only way to get it to stop in the correct spot is to run the wiper and try to turn it of at the exact point when the wiper is in the right spot. Any thoughts? :?
Its not the motor getting lazy and the blade arm is secured tight to the threaded mount

looks clean without but they are useful at times :D

It sounds to me like a wire in the tailgate - common problem for gen4 wagons. They break where they feed from the body to the tailgate, check the wires on both sides, they are in rubber grommets. remove the grommet at each end and gently pull on the wires until you find a broken one, or check continuity at each end of the grommet/ check for power source/ ground for each wire.
Built not bought, it's a way of life.

Had the same problem, Blue and white was broken, green with yellow dots broken and a black earth wire was starting to.
Rear right brake globe kept blowing latley too, may be the earth wire contributing to that.
