Spray it with degreaser and brush it with a stiff (not too stiff) brush. Spray and repeat til clean.

As for the fins, A terminal screwdriver rubbing it back and forwards along the fin while pushing it back to vertical works well.

My '04 GT has not one bent fin. :D

Very gently - fins can easily be bent under high pressure. Definitely degreaser followed by slightly-above-gentle water flow.

My preferred method for fixing bent fins used to be using a wooden toothpick. The metal is quite soft and easily manipulated.
I was going to procrastinate, but I put it off...

There are tools called 'radiator combs' for straightening fins....but dont ask me where to find one...

I used a couple of tooth picks on my TMIC.
The fins are extremely delicate - they will bend and also stretch (and break).
Even an accidental brush with a cleaning cloth did some (repairable) damage...

I used one toothpick tip horizontally to provide a profile and used another to flat the fin onto the profile.
Have to do one end of each fin at a time. The fold profile is slightly different at each end so trim (blunt) a toothpick to suit.
Takes ages but restores airflow fully :)

I block up the outlet and bov holes, fill it 1/4 with turps, prepsol, etc swish it around and pour it out.

Repeat until the liquid comes out as clean as it went in. Then remove blockages from holes and blow out with compressed air til dry.

Yes... How noticable the difference is, I couldn't tell you.

The cooler works on the idea of air flowing through the fins.. and if they're bent then air wont flow through them..
