Removing front bar?

Hey guys I'm trying to take off my front bar today, got a little stuck at the moment.

Have taken off all the bottom clips under the car, taken out the grille.
But I noticed on the side of the front bar in the wheel well there is a black plastic connector that had 1 pop in clip (which I have taken out) but there are also 2 screws and they facing outwards so I have no way of undoing them? Do I need a 90 degree screwdriver or something? Because I don't have one but will go out and buy one if I need to. (And does anyone happen to know the size I need?)

Here it is pictured.

Also can I take off the front bar without doing anything with the headlights or do they have to come out also? I need to take them off anyway for Mark to paint them but just wondering if the bar itself can come off first without touching the headlights.

Thanks.

Headlights dont need to come out for the bumper to come off.

Once you have taken the push clip out that secures it to the guard you just give it a firm, sharp pull outward as theres a recess it clips into under the side of the headlight.

Thanks Mark. But what about the bits in the picture? Are they not actually connected?

I'll go give it a good yank now (pun intended)

That black plastic part circled look like the bracket that support the grill, headlight, and clip for the front bar
you don't need to remove it

as Mark said, remove the push clips from bottom and top, one on each wheel arch, the grill and fog light connector (if you have them),
then to remove the bar, starting from the wheel arch, push the bar up slightly and slowly pull it out. The point at I get stuck at is where the front bar, headlight, and fender meet, it's annoying to pull it out :angry2:

Have either of you taken off the front bar on a post facelift Spec.B?

Because that black plastic thing (starting at the wheel arch) is definitely connecting the front bar to the front quarter panels. And it has 2 screws facing towards the inside of the front bar. So I guess I need to go out and buy a 90 degree screwdriver kit

That bit is part of the headlights. :P

Good to see you sorted it. Next time you'll do it in quarter of the time. :D

Hey! I took out everything that needed to be taken out by myself without any help or guides within 15 minutes. I was just really hesitant about that black bar because it looked / felt connected. I think I did pretty well for myself
But again thanks for the help.
