Need help with headlight issue

Hi, I have an issue with one of my headlights. I noticed one wasn't working so I took out my xenon setup and trouble shot that. It wasn't my xenons and I put my stock globes back in and notice the headlight was coming on very dim. It's only my left one doing it though. Has anyone had this problem or have any idea what it may be.

Thank you for any help.

Hows the wiring?

Check the connections to make sure you dont have a loose or heat affected connection.

I tried wiggling te connection with the lights on. Still no luck. May just shoot it to an auto elec, I bet it's something stupid. I've checked fuses and made sure the plug that goes on to the back of the globe has power. So I'm stumped.

If you Zenon wasnt coming on, its not getting enough power to kick start it. The standard globe is just a halogen so is glowing but dim which leads me to believe you have a bad connection somewhere to the LH headlight.

Is it a H4 with dual hi/low or seperate bulbs for hi/low. If so does the hi beam work?

It's a gen 3 , it has separate globes for hi/low beam. It has h7 low beam globe. If I turn hi beam on, the rhs works, and the lhs turns off altogether.

The earth connection is broken on the left hand side.

Edit: I might be wrong. The common pin in the globe isn't connected to ground.
That means it is more likely the left hand headlight relay is faulty, or fuse #8 has gone high resistance.
Try swapping the relays and fuses for the left and right hand headlights, and see if the problem moves.

Fixed it. There is something wrong with my hid's. They blow the lhs headlight fuse everytime i turn them on. Have gone back to the original lights. :( Any ideas what this may be? My car or the lights?
But thank you for all your help, And you were correct Ric, number 8 fuse.

2nd hand. Got them cheap, and got what I paid for. Was to be expected. How much for new ones? I am very keen to replace them.

Check Leo's sub-forum for details and/or PM him. If you want genuine Philips, then PM tangcla (don't know if he still does them).

Yeh i got the same problem too found the fuse kept blowing out.
couldn't understand it, because it was a 15A fuse and the hid ballast said it only drew 11 something Amps
on startup but i have old hid's the one's with a big metal box hoping to get some today but
i don't know if it is the HID unit i connected it over the battery and it turned on, i hope it's not the
wiring system, do you think i should just run a relay ? to draw power direct from the battery?
