I am looking at doing this, shouldn't cost more than about $100.

I don't want it to come on with boost, I only want an aircraft style switch on mine.

Nah, i still like being able to use that 5cm square hole in my back seat when the need arises.

I am just going to add another bottle in the bay. I should be able to find somewhere not to bad to hide it.

Depends what parts you want....budget or with some decent parts.

I got spec c tank with pump/ cusco controller / cusco nozzles/ reinforced hosing. nice... but not cheap.
or you can do a DIY backyard jobbie.

How much was all the branded stuff? Estimated breakdown would be good so I know which bits I can cut corners hehe

Budget version = $2 water pistol from Kmart, then you hold it out the window and aim into the IC intake.

I think you'd need more than a $2 water pistol, remember your car will be moving so you need a higher pressure, more powerful one.

Try "Crazy Clints", "The Warehouse", or "The $2" shop, and see if you can get a quality chinese pump up water pistol for $2 then

Not being the most intelligent person when it comes to wiring I had Sti Docklands install their kit for $250. It runs off the reservoir (I have a wagon) and is set to run on 10psi boost. Ahd yes, I think it makes a difference.

PS Arn't water pistols illegal under stage 4 water restrictions!

Which reservoir do you mean? The windscreen washer spray?

Yes - the wagon bottle already has two pumps on the reservoir bottle, one for the front, one for the rear. I believe the bottle holds more than the sedan, but I stand to be corrected on this point.

A third pump (!) dedicated to the intercooler spray nozzle has been added. The bottle is only accesible through the front wheel well.

if you want to cut corners, For sedan you can plumb into your windscreen washer tank, get nozzles from bunnings, cheap water pump, button from jaycar and fish tank hose, if you want auto spray , then get a hobbs switch.

For jap bits, prices ask phat or icandi for quotes.

The spray helps but no need to use unless its hot day or or working your snail hard. But its nothing to go gaga over imo
If you do drive hard, then get a big tank cos its a pain in the ass to refill all the time, hence 12l ftw.

The AUS delivered GD STi Imprezas used a smaller reservoir hidden in the boot behind the trim. Was manual activation only and pretty hopelesss really but you could still use the back seat port. Probably not suited for a for retro fit unless you planned on pulling up the carpet, but maybe the parts could be used to make something up if you wanted a factory look.
