so i buys this cat back gt exhaust from subarugt05 in brissie,
my friend goes, checks it out for me and buys it,
coldjet2 (who uses couriers all the time) organises freight to his wharehouse and all goes sweetly.
thurs afternoon i pick it up, take it home with a mind to fit it, just felt like getting my hands dirty.
my 3 year old keeps telling me to "stop pretending to be a mechanical, mum says she is NOT driving you to work tomorrow!"
with one hand on her hip, finger wagging the whole time...
my tools = 2 car jacks, 2 small shifters and some wd40.
for the next hour and a half i sweat my arse off, squeezed under my car with a gap about 1/2 cm bigger than my chest depth.
for all you oh&s aware people i at least had the 2 tyres removed and placed either side of me, which of course means
that the working room was further reduced.
so in the end i get to a point where i'm fitting the new system,
get the bolts at the front end fitted then put the rear of pipe work onto
the edge of one of the tyres for support while i get around to the back to finish the process........
hang on a sec, that doesn't seem to fit as neatly into the gap as the other one?
i wonder what the problem could be?
so i pull it off again to compare....
let me just announce at this point that the 18cms or so that the gt system is shorter in front of the first muffler is VERYimportant!

anyhoo, should be an easy fix when i take it to carline mufflers soon and get them to extend the pipe and fit the whole lot.....
you didn't think i'd go through that again myself did you?

sorry, forgot to add cost of whole ordeal.....
$150 for exhaust
$70 shipping
$20 for little rubber holdy on thingies(sorry to dazzle you with tech speak)
1.5-2 hrs of my arse sweating time only to discover that it wouldn't go on
$91.26 for the helpful boys at carline mufflers gladesville to restore my sanity :shok:
$12.67 for the groovy little placcie bit that clips onto the rear bumper around the exhaust.
all up not bad for how it now looks.(well it makes me happier anyhoo)
lol. adam
what'sthat old tradies saying, measure twice, cut once..... oh well, lesson learnt (learned?)

So you mean to tell me when i get my Invidia Q300 cat back into the garage and slave under the car with tires either side of me and someone else daughter telling me im no mechanic [i dont have a daughter] then i will find an 18cm difference and be so angry ill consider slamming the door on my own finger? haha, but seriously, will the invidia fit my 2.0l stock 04? if not, how much does it cost to make it work? Feedback is appreciated!
Cheers
