Door lock fell inside door

I have recently purchased a used liberty rx 2.5 99 model its a great car but the door lock fell inside the door usually there is a u shapped clip that retains the lock in other cars, i had a look cant see a clip in the door rang spares there not certain anyone know

I had this exact same thing happen to me with my old MY01 Liberty RX.

You have to pull the door trim off and really reach inside to the bottom of the door void, right into the mucky stuff sitting at the bottom. The clip WILL be there, somewhere.

Putting the lock back on is a right pain, though (at least on the MY01 it was - you have to remove the glass to get proper access to slide the clip back on).

Failing that, any workshop could fashion a replacement clip for you - there is nothing particularly special about it. You could also check out a wrecker.

In my case I paid a local mechanic $50 to refit it for me because I didn't want to deal with moving the glass. Good as new.
