05 3.0rb After Market Alarm System

Postby jay.ritchie » Tue Jan 10, 2012 9:30 am

Hey Guys,

I recently bought an 05 3.0rb Wagon with 65XXXkm’s on the clock. Really stoked with it, although theres one thing I’m not 100% about.
The car has an aftermarket alarm system installed- not sure what it is exactly just yet. Theres a couple of things annoying me about it:
- Added remote key to lock and unlock the car (I only want the one OEM key)
- If the key is left in the ignition for more than 3 minutes with the engine not running, the system overrides and won’t let you start the car until you hit the unlock button on the remote.

I was wondering if it would be possible for me to get the system removed, and to have the OEM key connected again (properly) so that it can unlock and lock the car.
I’m not sure what the positives of having an after market system installed are, it seems unnecessary for me to have.

Thanks in advance.

Unless its a pager alarm i would get rid of it.. But it might be costly getting it all removed..

Few months back i got alarm kit which was built in with the standard unlock/lock remote.

Do you know why it would be expensive to get it removed? I don’t think its a pager system.. I really just want it back to how it was out of the factory!

Does your existing key not also lock/unlock?
Do you have any documentation for the alarm system, or even a manufacturer/model of it?
What city are you in?

No, the existing keys buttons don’t do anything!
No documentation, but there is a manufacturer name on the new remote. Although I’m overseas for another week so i don’t have it on me.

I live in Melbourne.

I googled for an hour and eventually found out that it has an AUTOWATCH system.
