Hi guys,

Was driving around looking at houses yesterday when the GT finally decided to pull a CEL on me. I pulled over restarted car and everything was fine, until CEL came on another 3 times on the way home. After a bit of fishing around on legacygt.com, I found a nifty trick to get the CEL codes from the MY05.

1. Connect the Green and Black/White wire plugs, found taped up above the fuse box on the driver side.
2. Turn Ignition to ON (but do not start car)
3. When guages doing the sweep press the Odometer ONCE.
4. Any CEL occured should then be displayed on the Odometer reading.

I believe if you press the Odometer button twice during the sweep it resets the CEL code (as seen in the pic with CEL Code P----). I got a P0031 code which is a faulty O2 sensor, so I hope Subaru don't BS me and say that its fine when I know its not. I'm pretty sure the CEL will pop up again while I drive to work tomorrow.

Nice find Fishy, I didn't know you could do that.

Yeah bring it into Subaru and tell them what you think... your not going to lead on that you did what you did are you?

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but does this apply to MY07+ as wells? And is this only GT's? Because my car decided to throw a code today and I can't seem to find the 2 plugs u speak of.

Great bit of info there Fish !

I guess the question is, how many 02 sensors are on your model of Liberty and if there's more than one, how do you tell which one it is ?

If I've asked something stupid, tell me to go away
