Dear libertians,

could any one please suggest solutions to the following problem,

subaru liberty, MY92, 2.2L, auto trans

1. gearbox is stalling on sharp right turns, yup, so when I turn the steering right, irrespective of the gear engaged, the rpm meter goes way up to about 5-6000 rpm, car will usually disengage gear and gearbox will stall. it can then be corrected by returning steering wheel to the middle and the car will suddenly engage in gear, jerk then take off. similar but less frequent problem with left turns.

2. occasionally, on an incline, engine will strugle for fuel, but if u step on the accelerator pedal, it usually fixes the problem.

3. also, there is a delay with gear shifting, so, engine revs to 3-4000 rpm before changing gears. before the incident below used to changr at 2000rpm.

regular service done, recently the engine over heated, so had to replace water pump and radiator hoses and thermostat.

possible suggestions so far have been,

1. faulty gear box relay - dont know what or where that is?

2. fuel pump neads replacement

3. clutch plate replacement needed

4. blocked fuel lines

so yeah, any suggestions, hopefully with instructions would be helpful

thanks people

Engine mounts gone, allowing it to move around, and pull on linkages..?
Stalling gearbox? You mean it loses drive? Engines stall, not gearboxes.
