Fuel economy gauge not working?

Just fueled up today and I thought I would reset the trip meters as I did I have noticed that the fuel economy gauge (the one that swings back and forward depending on how much throttle your using) have frozen.
Will it fix it's self or do I need to change something?
Can anyone help?
Ps my car is a gtb tb Sti manual gen 4 model

I'v noticed that gets stuck occasionally on mine also, but it sorts it self out and starts working properly once the car warms up and i'm driving at a consistent speed.
Sorry i cant give you a response as to why it does this tho..

Does it have anything to do with recently resetting the trip meter?

What I have found out is that it doesn't start working until the car has travelled 1km. Due to the gauge being a measurement of L/100km. Once you have traveled the 1km it starts working again and estimating your fuel economy.
