Another custom air intake guide.

Having a look and a read of the other thread on the subject, I decided to have a crack at an air guide myself.

I took a few measurements of the top of the radiator support and mounting holes under the front of the intake and took these to work.

I was intending to make it ouf of some alloy sheet, but struggled to find some, so found the next best option.... a stackable file tray.

Made of nice rigid plastic that would do the job nicely.

Some measuring, cutting and a hit with the heat gun to bend it and its done, all in 20mins.

Tomorrow I'll hit it with some plastic primer and some matt black and post pictures of the finished product.

I can put up a template if others would like to copy, its an easy diy.

Done. Fits under the air intake using the oem clips. I had to remove one top clip for the grille, but this isnt a concern.

Is it strong enough that it doesn't bend/flap at 120km/hr?

It is very rigid. You just need the right material. Of course there is a little flex, but wouldnt be more than a few mm at speed.

Edit, scratch that, I just re read your post. Seems incredibly simple.

It is incredibly simple Jarrod, there may not be any gain* to be had with it, but it cant hurt and best of all it cost nothing.

*although Prova see it worthy enough to make something for it, but people will buy anything.
