Advice on installing an Ultrex front lip?

Hi all,
So since I'm due for a decent tax return soon I plan on doing my first cosmetic mod to my car - a front lip. As directed by a few people around the forum apparently the WRX MY05 STi front lip will fit my MY03 Gen 3 with a bit of bending/shaping and a slight trim. (if anybody could confirm this that would be great).

So what I am asking is, how easy are they to install? Specifically on my model car, but also just in general for anybody that has installed an Ultrex lip?

I probably should have waited a week or two to post this, but I'm keen to get it on pretty ASAP! :)

Thanks in advance! :D
Michael

Already have, but I don't want to bug him too much so just wanted a bit of variety of replies... Cheers.

i did it for my car pretty easy, if you need help give me a heads up, depends on how you want to install it, i drilled some extra screws in coz i thought it felt really flimsy but for urs might be different haha, and in in the end its up to how hard u want it to be attach to your front bumper as well

Well from memory he put it on starting at the front and then cut the ends where the wheel arch meets the lip and then put the caps on (glue them as Tom's fell off) where you have cut.

Otherwise Rob is a legend, just send him a email.

Ultrex lips arn't difficult to put on at all, I also drilled some extra tek screw just for piece of mind it doesn't come off

Alright beauty so it basically sounds like I just get it to where I want it, and secure in whatever way I see best and strongest (including multiple tek-screws!) :P. Cheers for the tip about the caps Hamish (not that I know specifically what you're talking about just yet but I know I wouldn't have bothered to glue them! :P).

Tom has offered to help me if I get stuck as well so hopefully I'll be able to have it on and pretty securely by our next cruise! :)

Thanks guys.

So i somewhat "installed" the lip today. It took me quite a while to figure out just where the f**k to start, but i got there in the end! The lip wasn't in very good condition when i received it, it was quite bend and buckled, and already had quite a few marks where the inner mount-attachment thing had obviously been rubbing on the lip in transit. After fitting it eventually and then washing my car, i got the high-pressure hose onto it and a full piece of paint flew off it, about 2cm x 2cm. The pressure-washer was barely even close to it. So not happy in that department. Furthermore, due to not fitting it properly the first time it was hanging a little lower than i expected, and reversing out of my driveway i managed to scratch the underneath of it pretty heavily. Also put a few good marks on it when installing it once i got frustrated. Hopefully i'll be able to clean up all the marks that are visible tomorrow once i'm happy with how it's sitting... :?

All in all, not 100% happy with it just yet, so up on the jacks again tomorrow to give it another crack.

I found the hardest part was having the balls to start drilling holes! :P And was hard to try and hold it in place working by myself also. Oh well, she's basically done now! :D
