The previous owner might have done what I did once - left them in their pocket just prior to spending some time in the water at the beach.....

Sadly, there was no cure for mine and it had to be replaced. This wasn't a Subaru part, though, just the aftermarket alarm remote attached to the car.

I would recommend taking it to Subaru and see what they have to say about it as you have done all the obvious things that I can think of.

Actually, just one thing - have you pulled the unit apart (assuming you can do this without destroying it) and given it a clean out? Could be a build up of all the nasty things that people keep in their pockets and on their hands that has worked its way into the system. Just a thought.

cheers,

bj

Not sure if it's 'standard'... Subaru AU won't be much help.. The car is an import.. Liberty B4 doesn't have a remote, it's built into the key.

Hey Dan,

Good to know it all came out alright in the end - I know how frustrating it would have been for you.

cheers,

My guess, by the sounds of it now working, is you were unlucky enough to get a faulty battery. Whenever buying batteries it is good practice to check the voltage before you use them to make sure they all work correctly, if not get a refund/exchange.
Built not bought, it's a way of life.
