Custom Air intake Guide - prova style

My question is, has anyone on here, seen/attempted or successfully fabricated an air guide, similar in function to the prova design for not much dollars :?:

After viewing it, its function and the way its attached, it doesnt look too hard to do, but if someones already done it, then their wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Not really even sure/lacking ideas for materials/how to achieve it.

My new modding bug to dollars budget is getting the better of me. :(

I would fold up some sheet metal, make sure you put a lip on the edges or rub them smooth so you don't cut yourself every time the bonnet is open though.

I've seen people make similar things using cardboard molds and laying some fiberglass, that worked well.

Yeah i was thinking just some sheet metal, and spraying it matt black so you cant see it through the grill. Especially if i paint my oem grill matt black too (thanks to mikee for the idea), hopefully it shouldnt be too noticable. If i end up doing it ill take some pics and post them, granted it doesnt look overly dodgy. cheers for the help.

There are two reasons for this thread. To save money, and because you enjoy fabricating your own parts. Mainly the first one though.

Yeah. Save yourself $120 or whatever it costs, after all it's just a curved piece of plastic.

Plus I think if you made it yourself you could make the curve more gradual and more efficient. The Prova one is a bit abrupt.

Basically it's just a curved piece of plastic that sits behind your front grill to "guide" air into the air intake.

See the pic above.

Basically just a piece of plastic for placebo effect. In theory it is meant to direct more air into your intake funnel.
