Has anybody done this please? Partly cosmetic reasons, but also to get the unit out the heat, and to make it look less tempting to tea leaves...There are some bits on avojdm, but not sure whats involved. How do you pull the cubby assembly out?
thanks

An old post i know, but has anyone tried this? I have 05 GT and want to put a monitor into the cubby - for datascan and aftermarket nav only. Theres a million posts about audio and touchscreens in the cubby, im keen to have a go if someone has some specific details/instructions!

Unsure if anyone has actually managed to do it... Always seems to be tricky to run the wires & depending on the Nav unit etc, it may or may not involve a fair bit of chopping involved, so it may be wise to pick up a 2nd hand replacement cubby unit just incase.

If you can find one 2nd hand (Or pretty cheap), Blitz make a plug in unit that gives you a display much like the ECU Datascan &/or like what the R35 GTR has that goes into the factory Sat Nav unit.

Might not be the cheapest way to go, but it'll look pretty & everything will be built in, which seems to be what people want :D

Yeah you are right, i highly doubt ill be able to source a second hand nav screen for the cubby tho if thats what you are meaning! id reckon they would be pretty rare! Will have a chat to the local car audio installer next week!

Keep us posted, because this is something I've been interested in doing for a while now.

This is what I am doing - a car PC with the help of Tai (a fourm member) :) If you need anymore information on this, refer to 'post your mods - Mr Cali.
