The bushings on my shifter are beginning to wear, so while I was there changing them I figured it may be a good idea to go to a short shifter as well while I'm there.
Perrin short shifterHas anyone used one of these before on a lib 6 speed? I'm hearing that the Lib is different to the STI in other forum circles, but I don't know how detrimental it is to its function.
Oh and if anyone else is keen we could get a few and share postage.
[edit] Forget it- I read the fine print. Doesn't work.
Can anyone suggest a good short shifter?

I have an Ultrex in my Foz...5 speed.....pretty sure he make 6 speed ones too....took a little bit of adjusting and modification....quiet easy to get in really....I'll find it hard to go back to a standard shift again

Soo.. I'm considering getting an sti linkage setup, and fitting a short shift to that. Can anyone tell me which years work/fit?
I don't think it's a simple as getting a GD onwards sti shifter setup. I've read there's two main types.

Does no-one do a short shift kit for the Liberty 6-spd's? Surely there is an aftermarket one available? Otherwise, how much is the Tuned by STi one?

you can get the perrin or any other short shift to work on our cars. requires some taping. i'm trying to find the photo but the server i'm on is being a pain, i'll re-post it somewhere later tonight.
essentially, to get any aftermarket short shift kit to work on your cars, you'll need the STi 6 speed kit first, then it'll fit without have to fiddle and zip tie stuff down..
it'll be clearer one i show u some photo.

I'd also heard of a "cable tie" solution as well, but I'd prefer to do it properly as I'm kinda over having things that are macguyver'd into place.

Have any of you guyswith a 6 MT short shift had any premature wearing of the white plastic bush at the bottom of the lever.
I have the Kartboy short shift and the bushing is wearing very badly at the bottom (2nd gear).

What the heck is that showing? Can anyone tell me what's actually involved with fitting an STi 6spd short shifter to the Libs?
Or... What is an STi short shifter going for?

see the little silver bit being held down bu the yellow zip tie?
that's supposed to butt up to the actual shifter.
ie: that cable shouldn't be exposed

That just looks bunky as hell...
May just have to wait around for an STi one at the right(reasonable) price...
