G'day,
I know the headlights in the 05 lib use a H7 globe, just wondering what the driving lights are?
i want to get some new globes to get a white style light, not the ugly dim yellow mine has currently.
i'm not a fan of mismatching globes on a car, so trying to get all the same for it
help appreciated

FYI, the back of your owners manual lists all the globe no's.

amazing how i totally forget i have a car that actually has books now haha... headlights seem pretty good to me, i mean come on, i was driving a vn calais

as to rice, i was more aiming that at people driving around with blue parker leds, blue headlights etc. thats wank, hard... lets not start on the other colours

i guess the HID's are increasing light output, would be good for people out country/dark areas though

The difference in the quality of the beam is very very obvious when looking at the photos about halfway down the first page.

However in this case, even with just the conversion kit and without having to change anything else in the headlight assembly, the difference is still substantial over halogen stock. Well, at least according to the masses and not keen eyes like Tek.

I have seen both HID retrofit (sans reflectors), and of course my own lights with Osram RallyE globes. The beam pattern, long distance and road side illumination, foreground glare (to the driver) was terrible on the HID. This was a Philips kit in a 4th Gen Liberty. If you take the car into a warehouse or somewhere where you can see a 180degree view of the beam as it lights up the side and front walls, the difference is even more apparent. The difference between a simple retrofit kit, and factory HID is like night and day.

Sure they are super bright and with a tinge of blue but the light was in all the wrong areas. It's fine if you want other people to see you, but it is not good for seeing obstacles on the highway at night which could be in your headlight dark spots. If you always drive in the suburbs and never down dark or unlit roads this may not be an issue for you.

So yeah I would agree that a HID retrofit without reflectors is definitely a substantial difference, it is substantially worse than properly focused halogens IMHO . If I did not believe this to be the case I would have just bought a $200 Philips kit a long time ago and saved a lot of time in sharing this information. I just don't have the time, money or effort to go through with a RX330 retrofit at this stage.

Jim is right, he's pointed out that most people who do the basic retrofit is only after a cosmetic improvement in their headlights. Members should also be aware of the side effects as well and make an informed decision from there

Is there any difference with the projector set up in these 2 head light ??

MY07 - 09 Liberty - None Xenon (Low beam) Models

and

MY07 - 09 Liberty - Factory Xenon (Low beam) Models

I guess the factory xenon head light got the self levelling ?? and non xenon will be using H7 bulb while xenon equip car will be using D2S bulbs... other then that the actually projector it self any difference there ??

The whole headlamp unit is not interchangeable between facelift and pre-facelift.
