Increasing range on keyless entry

This guy at work told me, if you keep a spare key at home, and lock your key in your car, call someone at home, get them to press the unlock button next to the phone, and it will travel through the phone line and unlock the car lol...

Sounds believable but I dunno... :(

Urban myth, sorry. Think of it like trying to shine a torch through a phone - doesn't work :)

Only if it's a cordless phone. It doesn't work with handsets that are on a cord.
