Just searching wrecker sites and got lucky. I'm in NZ actually, but that just means they're even rarer than they are for you guys since as far as i'm aware tbsti's were never a nz new option here, only ever imported used.

Either would do really. just got to be a bit more carefull with a grinder. I'd use a grinder myself but without experience it would be pretty easy to make a mess of it.

its something you can more or less learn in 30 minutes, to an extent.. I would say though a dremel is handy for the more tricky corners as a grinder can be a touch bulky

was a couple mm for me personally but dont forget the dremel is not really made for metal. The angle grinder is much much quicker.

It was quite alot, but was the entire package. Had been looking at just getting sti ones and then rear rotors and adaptors but that was going to work out more expensive than this set. Also in nz the adaptors need to be certified , few hundred bucks, if you want to stay legal. Alot of people don't but personally i'd rather stay completely legal for a car that isn't a roughed up beater.

A bit under 2k nzd. STI ones tend to go for a bit north of 1k
Came with calipers, rotors, pads, sti braided brake lines, front and rear hubs and handbrake cables.
Worth it in my mind since its a perfect drop in option, no fucking round with adaptors and certifications.

These are 2nd hand of course. Mine, which were legacy brembo's were under 2k, same calipers, just has the other parts needed for legacy fitment. STI ones being standard v7/v8 brembo's are normally a little over 1k but then need more bits to work with legacy's

I was lucky enough to get my full set of front & rear Brembo's plus used discs and pads for AUD$1K all up, shipped for free from a wrecker in NZ.

Add $1K for a new set of Brembo-clearing rims plus another $600 for new tyres, plus ancillary items such as new brake fluid, braided lines, Kartboy adapters, STi Master Brake Cylinder, an angle grinder plus some labour for things I couldn't do myself, and I spent close to $4K all up. The front discs and pads were eventually replaced with DBA4000's and QFM's, so there's extra cost there too.

Seems like an unavoidable hefty price tag for such a conversion starting to wonder if it would be a worthy upgrade compared to standard gt brakes?
