I once (early 90's) paid $500 for a Sony 'Car Discman'. Was thicker than a normal player as it had extra suspension lol
Drove around with it velcro'd to my front passenger floor.

clean the lens of the laser....I have a Philips CD for this - actually has a brush on the bottom of the disc!!!
The Mcintoss is a pretty poor device for its supposed rep IMHO. I have replaced them in 2 cars now....
