installing floor lights that dim with dome/cabin light

Ok,

So the information I could find is that there should be a specific molex near the fuze box that I just piggyback.
however, was wondering if any of you had done a similar project and had experience or advice.

I'm modding a 2002 gen 3 liberty.

I have 2 small led strips that I want to light up the floor wells at the same time the dome light does it's thing (unlock car, open doors, fades when closed).

Any tips?
If you know which molex I piggyback to that would also be awesome.

Haven't done this myself, but have a look at the fuse listing on the flipside of the coinbox flap near the steering wheel that hides the access to the cabin fuses - one of them should show you which one feeds the interior lights. Piggyback off that using a double mini-blade fuse socket wire tap from Jaycar (part # SF5125).

Other members may suggest a better way to do it.
I was going to procrastinate, but I put it off...

Using a fuse tap will just give you power, it wont fade or turn off when you lock the car. Chances are the controller switches the negative side of the lighting circuit so you will need to look at the FSM and get access to the central locking control module that controls the lighting, from memory its beside the glovebox under the vent

I asked one of the auto electricians the best way to do this for a similar project on my own car. I've done LED stripping in my previous car, an older pulsar, but I wanted to run pinstripe lighting in my liberty. So I asked him where I should wire in, and he suggested piggybacking off the light for your cigarette tray or (if you're game), the glove box light.
Good luck.
