Fix rubber door seals

Postby ksirk » Tue Feb 16, 2010 4:40 pm

Hi All,

My rubber door seals are coming off and cracking on my 2005 liberty. :(

Although probably a really minor and easy thing to fix; I have a few questions:

- Is it as simple as getting the appropriate glue to reseal?
- What about the cracks?
- Would it be something I could have done by my mechanic at the next service
- Or should someone else do it?
- What would it cost?

Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers.

i think the seals are pop on/off

i know it's for the rear cos mine keeps coming off as people get in/out of the car.

was the same in my 2.5i

I had the same issue. Took it back to Subaru and the whole M seal on the left hand side was replaced because of a broken clip near the back door. Seeing as your car is a MY07, it might be possible for you to get it replaced under warranty too.

you can pop the seal back in, its fairly easy to do. ive seen a lot of libertys/outbacks that do this. if your not going to replace the seal at least put some contact adhesive under the seal when you put it back in.

Confession time: Putting on the roof racks yesterday, I've (my gf and I) f&cked up and put a small tear in my door rubbers!

Are these easy to DIY replace? Repair (glue?)?

Not keen on getting the stealership to replace!
