Anyone know what this plug is for?

Postby rever » Sat Jan 17, 2015 2:58 pm

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what the white plug in the photos is for? (disconnected in the photo). One side of the plug is yellow/black and the other is brown/cream.

This is the cable section directly next to the driver's acceleration pedal.

You have appear to have removed the plastic cover on the right side of the footwell?
Correct?

Was the connector disconnected already, or did you disconnected for the photo?

There is a connector behind the cover that must be connected (or maybe disconnected?) while the remote entry key fobs are programmed or reprogrammed to the car.
I watched my locksmith access this area while I was having an additional remote/immobiliser key prepared for my car.

So if I am correct, that is the connector for remote entry key learning.

Hope that this helps.

UPDATE
My Factory Service Manual shows a "CODE ENTRY CONNECTOR" on a Brown/White wire and Black/Yellow wire either side of the connector.
With this new knowledge, I am pretty certain my assumption is correct.
It is the connector for coding the remote keyless entry devices with the car.
