Liberty more sluggish than usual/help.

Postby thedlindsay » Tue Dec 17, 2013 2:23 pm

Hey so I have a 96 liberty wagon and I was playing around with 4wd low the other night and I Got stuck on a hill and after I got up I could smell rubber and a bit of clutch, I then drove on the road and it seemed like the clutch was slipping and I didn't know what to do but a few days later I heard a whining noise develop in low gears. The clutch doesn't slip anymore but the car whines and feels significantly slower than usual. Does anyone know what this could be?

While I am not new to 4wds in general, I am when it comes to Subies.
Is it full time 4wd?
Is it a possibility that hubs are still locked?
Is there a centre diff that could still be locked?
Sorry for not being much help.

It is constant 4wd/awd

I was thinking it might be stuck in 4lo but the 4lo whine is twice as loud as the one I'm hearing
