New Car but Central locking not working even with key

Postby ta2272 » Sun Feb 03, 2013 9:45 am

hey guys,

Im recently a new owner to a Spec B 2008 Liberty (very happy)

The central locking does not respond to either keys and wanted to know if anyone has any feedback on were to start,

I find it strange that even when I open the door with the drivers key (actual key hole) it doesn't prompt the other doors to open, or is this normal for a subaru?

Anyhow any input would be great, i did a quick search through the forums but couldn't find an issue similar to mine

Regards

Jason

With other libertys if you only use your key in the drivers door door will it unlock the passenger or all four doors?

Correct, from memory.

Check all your fuses to start.

Have you made sure it doesn't have the double locking enabled?
It's a dealer security thing, that and check your batteries as said.
Our WRX you have to press the button/turn it twice to make the other doors open.

With my car, when I turn the key once in the drivers door, only the drivers door unlocks. Pushing the button on the key does unlock all doors.

Same here. I asked a similar question in the past, and got the same response.

Key will only unlock the drivers door if you use the lock.
