Front Drive shafts

Postby Pundit » Sun Oct 28, 2012 6:29 pm

Question for the wise pool of knowledge here :) . I find myself in the position of having to replace the front drive shafts (......well, one of the boots has gone. So I decided to just replace both shafts). The bit that has me stumped isn't getting the job done, it's that my Lib' was born 3/05 and all the shafts listed on eBay are to fit 8/05 onwards. I suspect they're the ones I need, and will fit but I could be wrong. So, I need the thoughts of the people!

Better off reconditioning your shaft that's gone. The aftermarket eBay shafts can be troublesome. I went through this about 2 months ago.

The reason they are 08/05+ is because that's when the gen4 was born in the USA and that's where a fair few of the aftermarket parts for our cars come from.

I have a set of front drive shaft I got with the engine I picked up last weekend. They have 55000kms on and still look brand new. The are for sale if interested.
