HKS Super Hybrid Air Filter

Postby dutch7 » Tue Sep 25, 2012 5:15 pm

Hey all, so I'm wanting to replace my stock air filter with a HKS one. I've found this one on eBay, and asked the Seller if it would fit my lib (response below). Without having to go through the process of opening the air filter box up first to check the dimensions, would anyone know if this is the right model (70017-AF00) and/or dimensions for my lib (MT)?

It should fit, here are the dimensions of the air filter, so you can double check since International models can differ.
Height: 0.938 in (24 mm)
Outside Length: 8.75 in (222 mm)
Outside Width: 8.563 in (217 mm)

I cut up some neoprene to make a flat O ring type seal all the way around the 2 x halves of the plastic air filter holder/cage - for better sealing of the filter in the airbox.

Got my filter S/H so I'm not sure if they come with something similar standard.

What I would like to source is a fizzing detergent/powder to clean the filter.
Oxiclean is recommended on the US forums, is anything similar available here? Kaboom?

I'll just visit the super market and look for something unscented* that contains lots of soduim percarbonate...
And do the wash in soda water to be sure...

Keep (and wash) your old filter so you have something to use whilst you dry your cleaned HKS filter every month or few
*Ditto for when you get the HKS cabin filter^^^

It's gotta fizz!
