Swap grill badges - MY07 GT B ?

Postby bigBADbenny » Mon Jan 30, 2012 7:52 am

I bought a spare grill via eBay, alas the vendor described the condition as "lightly scratched", not it's actual condition: "lightly munted badge because someone couldn't work out how to remove it correctly".
The badge has a small chip in the chrome on one edge from an attempt to lever it off with a screwdriver, and the central star has flakey chrome from the back mount being pulled away.
As the spare grill is otherwise in better condition than mine, I'd like to swap the badges - anyone here know the correct badge removal method?
The spare will be used for meshing project as discussed here: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=15152&start=0&hilit=woven
Cheers, BBB.

Did mine a while ago. They are stuck on with something like blue tack, but stronger. I managed with a thin flexible blade that I slipped in behind the edge, and got away with just a tiny bit of the blue damaged. Was able to touch it up with some enamel before moving to new grille.
