Swapping Stocks seats

Postby Ironman » Mon Nov 14, 2011 3:43 pm

Hi guys.
Just bought my first Subaru two weeks ago and i love it. However, the interior quality could be a little better (seats, door trim). I found a good of leather seats and door trims from a 2000 Heritage edition.

Just wondering how hard it would be to swap it all out and replace it with the leather stuff. And is $440 a bit expensive?

My car is MY01 RX, i assume that the seats would be exactly the same.

Thanks

p.s can anyone point me towards a good set of instructions on how to disasemble the dash and swap the head unit of a Gen3, i abused the search tool, but couldnt really find anything. Maybe im searching the wrong words :?

Gen4 seats dont go into Gen3.

As for swapping the Gen3 RX seats with a heritage leather interior, its a very easy process.

$440 is reasonable if the leather is in good nick.

Yeah mate, easy as buggery for a swap out..

I believe its 4 bolts and the seat-belt for drivers, 4 bolts for passenger. Back bench is a matter of pulling it up gently from the corners, unhooking two metal "hoops" and sliding the bench out, back rest part is clips around the top area, and two bolts with a hook style thing (that the bench's loops hook into).

Doors are a couple of screws and pop clips..

PM me if you need indepth help..

Cheers,
Nick
