car not starting

Postby ryab4 » Tue Dec 07, 2010 4:35 pm

g'day guys, new to this one.
i have a subaru legacy b4, its an import and its the red blitzen model.
now ive just rebuilt the engine and got the engine in the car all ready to run, just bled the clutch, span it round a few times with the plugs out to get the oil pressure up, its was turning with the key and all like it would.
so i thought "good time to start it".
so i put the plugs and coils in and hook up the fuel lines, and it dosnt start, nothing happens no starter click o spin, the fuel pump works thou.
the check engine light is on, i connected the black connectors and read the code, and i got code 12, which is start switch or circuit problem.
annoyed and wanting to start the car, i pulled the switch wire of the start and manually jumped it to the battery, engine turns over but nothing runs.
the next day i tried reseting the ecu by having the battery out for a few minutes. the code is gone but i still get a check engine light and when i check the code, all the light does is flash slowly, not reading a code of.

in short i desperately want my car going and i dont know if the flashing check engine light is normal or not.
can some one shed some light on my problem??

Sounds like your immobiliser, Does the immobilizer key light come up on the dash?
Same thing has happened to me yesterday :/ Still waiting for an answer.
