gen 1 automatic problems

i have a 91 gx wagon that is a dayly drive but when i put my foot down ( past 2000rpm) its like driving with my foot on the cluch (its a 4 spd auto ) is ther any way of fixing it and will a 91 lx fwd bolt in to it if i cant fix it ??any help would be awsome thanks

Check your AT fluid, that would be the first thing. make sure its a nice vibrant red, if its a dull red or browny type colour change it. Thats about the best ive got not very familiar with gen 1's sorry.

thanks , yeah already checked that one iv also put a new inline filter in .
im having it now that i have to give it a rev to get it to engage in gear or it will just sit and not drive i was thinking it might be bands but i cant find any info on how to ajust / tightin them
