Already change to standard GT wheels.

So no horrible wheels from GC8 wheels.

But I want to swap my wheels to 16" again, to get better acceleration and fuel consumption

What tyre size on your 16" ? I'd say the weight difference between the two wheels (with tyres) is negligible and the 17" even if it's a tiny bit heavier overall would provide benefits to make the extra weight worthwhile.

Well, 17" provide better handling in overall and better steering feel.

That 16" I already sold it, so I didn't have the 16" anymore.

I think I will keep using 17" wheels, since my spare also 17" wheels. I know tyres will be cheaper on 16", but yeah, i think 17" already good enough.

Allright, I guess it's winter time(almost)...

I will do detailing tomorrow morning. Well just a correction and wax using DA.

Got my new supply, full Collonite product and new Dual action polisher.

I will post picture after that.

Btw if you have a detailing collection please post up here.

Pretty much my collection:

Hmm, well, honestly I'm not really a professional detailer. But 80-90% of the swirl will gone by using tools, can't use hand.

Sadly in Australia, I can't wash my own car in my home(because of water restriction). Because in DIY Car wash, I can't use bucket+didn't know the shampoo product and in the end, swirl marks will be appear again after you wash it+still got the wax but after 4-6 times wash, wax will gone.

But yeah, swirl marks doesn't really matter, since actually proper maintenance is the key of detailing. Not always every time you cut, polish and wax. Well at least once a month you wax and 3-6 months you cut/polish if necessary.

Cheers

In Melbourne:

Carwashing

Efficient commercial car wash only Cars may not be washed at home with drinking water.

Cars may only be washed using a water efficient commercial or mobile carwash.

You may use a bucket, filled directly from a tap to clean car windows, mirrors and lights; and to spot-remove corrosive substances.

I detailed my car last Saturday, because it's coming to winter time and raining time in Melbourne, so I think, I need to give a bit of protection.

Tools that I use:
1. DAS-6 DA
2. Meg's white
2. Meg's UC
3. Meg's Scratch X 2
4. Meg's no.9
5. Collinite 845
6. Collinite 476
7. Collinite 915
8. Meg's W8207 Polish pad+LC black pad+LC white pad
9. Meg's Ultimate Quik Detailer.

I really love when using DA, gives a result more flawless and the best polish so far. There's a picture when beading, just using the UC+Scratch X+meg's 9, seriously slick. Want to wipe using my MF towel, but too slick, so I need to use my water magnet towel.

Just using the steps above, that I'm claying the whole car first, then give a shot using Yellow pad meg's with UC, then continue to White pad with scratch X and finished it with Black pad with Meg's 9.

After those steps, I use my Collinite 845 for my sealent. Then for wax I gave 476 and last 915. Result was totally flawless, metallic flakes everywhere, and more hardcore when I saw it directly under the sun.

Just a quick note that the photo are before I gave Meg's UQW as my last protection.

Thanks

That looks bloody fantastic! Just be careful you don't buff your paint too thin this is the second restoration you've posted about in less than 6 months :)

I don't have any equipment or products for restoration, just washing and sealing/maintenance plus a claybar. At some stage I'll probably send my car to Final Inspection for a Stage 2 restoration or something since I just don't have the patience to spend a good 8-10 hours on the car in one sitting (I don't have a garage so I cannot do it over 2 days).

Yup. Thanks Jim for the compliment and advice.

Well, yes, in 6 months I already do twice.

The first one is because of contamination and un-maintain paint care when I bought it.

This time only for protection.

Just FYI, for rotary polisher, yes I need to be careful, since it's the most cutting power for the paint.

When using DA, the cutting power much lesser than the rotary. So, every 3 months do polish and cut, should be alright.

A quick note, I use Ultimate Compound because I want fast and I think Subaru paint is a bit medium hard paint, which is safe. When it comes to Hon*a, it's super soft and I can't use directly to UC, it will smear and can make it worse than before.

All things should be done from the Less Aggressive method. Then a proper maintenance, is good car care. If you keep cut and polish, it's not good, it will make your paint as hell and someday you need to re-paint clear coat!

I will posts soon about the DA and Rotary, then about the product and all that stuff for the detailing knowledge.

Hopefully it will be useful.

Cheers

As promised, I will make a page about detailing, just for maintaining, cleaning your car paint, but also you want a bit hardcore, all can be learn from the video. I took from Meguiar's USA youtube video. It's easy to understand and it's a good product also.

Here's step by step learning method:

1. Washing your car:

http://www.youtube.com/MeguiarsUSA#p/u/3/SVcVpS0-Eck

2. Claying your car:

3. Cleaning you wheels:

4. Protect your interior, plastic, vinyl:

5. Maintaining finish of your paint:

It's been a while since 2 months I didn't do detailing regarding to my re-paint panels, 2 days ago I gave some TLC to my car.

This time I use brand Zaino and also try a new product from meguiar's.

The trunk I used clay from mothers then continue to Zaino Z5 as polish, Z2 as sealant, and Z6 for my last touch.

Left whole panel only clay and then Meguiars gold class carnaubra plus+UQW.

Right panel only clay and then Zaino Z2 sealant and Z6 as last touch.

I'm pretty impressed with the result. But Zaino makes me fall in love. Sealant that can produce a wax color look a like. It's deep, glossy, and metallic flakes pop out.

Here's some pics that I took.
