Start with a good vacuum to get as much dust, dirt etc out and then give them a shampoo with good quality upholstery shampoo and most importantly, let them dry in the shade, never in the sun. If you have access to a "wet" vacuum cleaner that's even better so you can give them a good shampooing and then suck all the grime out, rinse with clean water then wet vacuum again. Subaru use good fabric so they will come up like new.. There are some great youtube videos on cleaning seats..

My blue one has light grey suede inserts and I have shampooed those. They started to get small "pills" building up over the base from use so I carefully took those off with a razor. It's done 250k klm and still looks good. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... +car+seats

Is it safe to wet the Blue seats? By pills do you mean the small little pieces that clump up over time on the bottom where you'd sit on? :mda:

Yes.. I don't know what the correct term is. I have heard them called pills. Not sure about blue seats but we have never had issues with dye running etc. I would shampoo a small area out of site and see how it goes before splashing out on the main part of the seats.
