Hey mate,

You can use most cut & polishes to restore your headlights like Dri Wash OxyGone, 1Z paint cleaner or Duragloss actually have a product, Plastic lens polish that will help.
www.jtrautocare.com.au/product/plastic-lens-polish/ or www.jtrautocare.com.au/product/extra-pa ... ner-500ml/ or www.jtrautocare.com.au/product/oxygone/

I would than suggest protecting your newly restored headlights with a sealant/polish so your not having to restore them every few months. Check out Nanolex Spray Sealant or Dri Wash Ultra Ion www.jtrautocare.com.au/product/premium-spray-sealant/ or www.jtrautocare.com.au/product/ultra-io ... -kit-60ml/

If you gonna use sand paper make sure you use a fine grade wet and dry paper, there are some kits available with abrasive paper from Mothers, Turtle Wax etc which can be found at Supercheap/Repco/Autobarn.
Since the haze/oxidation is only minor a polish should be all you need but when its major you will need to use abrasive paper to remove it. I hope this helps and if you do decide to get some products from me, I offer 10% discount to members coupon code is "liberty 10"

Cheers

I've had good results on my old cars using the turtle wax kit... yeah I know, but it works.

By all means try what ever you want, but the kits work. If you using anything motorised take it easy and don't burn the plastic.

Heres a good video to show you whats going on and why abrasives are better to fix a headlight haze over just using a wipe on product. then making sure you use a sealant.:

I just finished my headlights using the turtle wax restoration kit. Some of the blemishes on the light were deeper than the polishing pads could buff out so against all my instincts used some sandpaper to cut into it and then used the polishing pads and seemed to work a treat clear as. The sealant wipes they include seem to have left the light clear but i can still see the wipe marks and am hoping these will dissipate when it has fully dried. Fingers crossed i haven't completely ruined anything

I'd either use a heavy cutting compound on a heavy cutting pad. Or 2000 grit wet and try then a finishing polish!
A couple of tips.
Most important thing is to not press too hard on the sandpaper. Almost glide it through, let the abrasiveness of the paper do the work, not your pressure. It will more sanding to get the oxidisation off, but you'll be saving much more timing with the polishing in the end. You also want to cross hatch, so go up and down a few strokes, then go side to side when you sand!
