Faded bonnet

Postby tRA86 » Thu Sep 27, 2012 2:39 pm

Hi all,

The gloss or clear coat to the front tip of the bonnet is starting to fade and so it look like it's exposed the paint and there's no shine to it any more. Would anyone know what should be done to repair this? or what the costs involved are?

Its for a liberty obsidian black 4gen.

Thanks

I'm also interested in this as my bonnet is also starting to fade slightly, all other pannels are fine, same colour as yours too i believe

decent machine cut n polish should bring the shine back to faded clear, if that fails the clearcoat may be too far gone and you'll have to get the faded clear sanded back, painted over and clear the rest of the bonnet. fairly easy procedure for any panel shop and will set you back a few hundred give or take depending on where you go, if you pay cash straight up or watevs...

bit baffling that a newish kinda car would have faded clear, my guess is the cars had some work done in the past and theyve either used crap clear or just done a rush job. hope that helps! :D
