How to remove black spots from wheels?

Hi Guys,

Anyone have any ideas how to remove these black stains from my wheels? They were there when I bough the car and are on all four wheels. They are mainly on the 'flat' face, not on the angled section which makes me think it may be from some type of tyre black/spray.
I have tried:
-Gumption
-Clay Bay
-Polish
Cheers.

Tried to attach a photo, hope it works

HI mate,

Saw the photo - it looks like the clearcoat has been stained. Short of everything you've already done, you'll probably be looking at sanding her back.

Sanding and re-spraying can be a bit of a pain, mainly because it has to be done correctly.

Before trying that, do you have a rotary buffer?

Cheers

Actually I do have a cheap one, might give that a shot - what product do you recommend I try it with?

Hi mate,

For retail products, i recommend the following (please use in order as they are from least abrasive to most abrasive).

- Meguiars Ultimate Compound (available Autobarn & SCA)
- Autosol Aluminium Polish (available from CCP Australia) - *Please ensure it's the aluminium and not chrome polish*
- Meguiars Medium Cut Cleaner #1 (available Autobarn & SCA)

Start by washing, claying and drying the wheel completely. You may need a 4" pad to properly get traction and control in that space (and a backing plate to go with it).

Any questions, please let me know!
