Something crossed my mind today... does all subarus have "Electronic Rust Protection" as standard? Bought my 08 liberty H6 used and never thought about this.

Do you have any more information? I'm intrigued as I have never heard of this "Electronic Rust Protection".
Which parts does this cover?, Does it use a current or electrostatic charge?
I have too many questions... gotta go look this up :?

basically it puts a current (can't remember if it is a + or -) through the body of the car to eliminate oxidization. They don't come as standard as far as I know. The unit is part of the detailing package they try and sell you. However, if you live near the beach etc (like I used to) I would say they are a good investment. They also have a row of LEDs that indicate battery strength which is handy.

Don't know of any car that comes standard with this - Although it wouldn't supprise me if a Rolls or Bently did.

Was offered this when I bought the EVO, but they were asking a wee bit too much. Generally we can pick them up for about $400-$500 from memory. I actually think it's a good thing, & in theory if the best way to protect your car from rust... That is of course if your planning on keeping your car for a bloody long time or if you live near the sea side.
