Traction light stuck on while driving

Hello, i have a 2004 Liberty 3.0 H6, and i beleive it's my traction light I'm having issues with. When i first start the car, i can press the traction button and turn traction on and off and the light goes with it, but after i start driving 90% of the time the traction light will come on and stay on, i had a service recently but the mechanic couldn't find anything when he scanned it as the light isn't on unless the car is driving or if your at a red-light etc. Is this a common issue? Should i be worried? And what can i do to rectify it if anything? I have attached a picture of the light for reference.

All advice welcome and appreciated.

Try using the light switch/stalk trick to display current and stored codes on your odometer. Then post the codes here and or lookup the detailed code diagnostic procedures in the FSM workshop manual free pdf download you can find online, eg jdmfsm dot info, et al.

Details here:
Codes, Factory Service Manual (FSM), parts:

The specific procedure for you year model might be the one described for my05…
As opposed to a generic obdii scanner, the odometer trick will also display Subaru specific DTC codes including C codes for canbus which relates back to the traction control system which itself is part of the ABS system.

Use the FSM DTC code diagnostics, don’t just swap the part mentioned in the title of the code as that’s a clue to the affected system, not the cause of the symptom. Alternatively try a dealership scan, or freeSSM, romraider or btssm with the appropriate obdii interface. Get back with what you find.
