Car running on - fast idle

Postby Shaheenis » Sun Dec 17, 2017 12:05 pm

Hi there,

After some advice. The engine has been running on lately. Not always but enough to be annoying. Basically the idle doesn't always return to idle with foot off the throttle. I have had this before but it tends to go away and come back. Could this be a sticky throttle? Could it be a vacuum leak or what else could cause this symptom?

Interestingly the last time this happened (and was quite bad) was last Christmas when I did an upper engine clean. Last night I read another thread where someone had the exact same issue after an upper engine clean. Not sure if it is related to or not but last time I did this was a year ago.

Cheers in advance,

Tim

You’d pull the tmic and bomb out the throttle body with uec and replace the tb hose at the same time surely? :)
