Elm327 Wifi

Hey lads

i recently got an elm327 wifi and connected it up and it worked. The problem is each time I turn the ignition to 'on', I have to pull out the elm327 from the obd port and plug in again otherwise the phone won't register the device. Is this what is meant to happen? Or is this a problem with the device

As I wouldn't want to be having to do it every time I get in the car.

Thanks for an assistance offered

I'm surprised it works at all :good:
I'd get an obdii extension cable and find the power wire using a continuity test probe.
Then wire it to a switch or relay to simulate the replugging scenario...
Maybe google around that as you'd not be alone with the issue...

Yeah I've tried asking Mr Google but couldn't come up with anything. Not sure if anyone with a Bluetooth version has the same issue?? If that is more favourable I'll try do a swap with the place I got it from

Thanks for the reply aswell bigbadbenny
