Hi how long does it take for an LV to reset ? Is it every new driving session?

It doesn't reset at all unless you reflash the ECU or de-power the car.

So if I'm seeing knock events does it stay there unless I reset ecu?

I thought if I go for a fun then stop and go an LV it would be fresh ?

Perhaps you need to revisit the webpage you downloaded LV from and read how to use it again? Most of the questions to your answers should be there.

Contrary to popular opinion, LV does not actually record knock events. It reads the memorised pulled ignition timing.

The key term here is "memorized", ie. it doesn't add the timing straight back in, usually over a period of time.

Additionally LV is just a tool, not a knock sensor/detector. You need to know how the ECU works and how the LV works to use it properly for diagnosis.

Thanks Akexi I guess what I'm trying to achieve is knowing my tune is safe. And every now and then do an LV however I'm now seeing red values and am concerned...

IAM is at 1.000

Well you might as well go ahead and put a screenshot up of it and you might get some clearer answers.

Not quite following you there. Could be repeated false knock or real knock.
You can reset the ECU using Learning View. Right up the top of the program. The IAM will then drop down to 0.5 or something like that then drive around, do a pull most of the way to redline or the IAM won't rise as it hasn't seen if there is a problem in the higher revs. Then maybe just drive around for a week and see if the FLKC table pulls timing anywhere.
