Morning all,

I was just wondering what is the best value for money when it comes to buying an OBD ii scanner for an android as I have seen them for 10 for a cheap Chinese thing all the way upto $154.00 for the IBDLink MX, just wondering if anyone can please give me advise

http://www.btssm.com/

100% the best for a subaru garaunteed.

(But buy an elm327 ODB2 unit for $20 to have as a spare and to use on other cars anyway, it's a handy tool)

I have an elm327 bluetooth paired with a samsung galaxy s2 and it DOES NOT WORK(well) with my Gen V. Slow to connect then lights up the dash like a christmas tree. After doing all that it disconnects all the time and wont clear away the error codes.

Works fine on my S1 w/gen4 but BtSsm is the next level :)
I bought the clear blue $20 elm from an Aussie Ebay vendor in case of issues....

I bought a cheap one from ebay (under $20 from memory). Works great, but somewhere along the lines there's a lot of lag between what actually happens and what shows up on the screen of the dashcommand app. Probably 1 second delay or worse. No idea whether this is normal, or to do with the hardware, or the app.

Elm327 is the lowest common denominator of obdii connections.
If you're serious about logging & LV, Tactrix & BtSsm are the best solution for my01+ and hard to log JDM ecu's...
See the lgt thread linked in the BtSsm thread here for the latest updates including CAN logging via Tactrix OTG or obd2link for my07+.
This means logging and LV support for my15 CAN only cars is on the way :)
